Listening & Speaking, Semester 1, Final Exam Information



Time allowed = 1 Hour, Marks worth 30% of Semester 1.



Section 1 (total of 20 marks)

  • Short Conversations (questions 1 - 10)

  • Compound Dictation (questions 11 - 20)


Section 2 (total of 20 marks)

  • Short Conversations (questions 1 - 10)

  • 3 Passages


Section 3 (12 marks)

  • Recording Key Information:

  • "You will hear a talk about two famous Universities in England. The information will be played three times. Listen carefully for the key words. Complete the table giving the essential information that you hear."


Section 4 (8 marks)

  • Main Ideas, Supporting Ideas, Points of View and Compromise:

  • "Listen to the following simulated radio talk show, which is on the topic of human fetal tissue for medical experimentation. A debate takes place between a leading scientist and a religious leader. As you listen for the first time, try to answer the following questions."
