Welsh Culture:
The Welsh have retained more of their traditional culture than have either
the Scots or the English. A strong feeling of national solidarity exists in
Wales, and a revival of Welsh nationalism has received political support.
The Welsh are best known
outside the country for their male-voice choirs which have their roots in
the chapel. As well as many well known singers and actors. Wales is also
well known for its poets, the most famous being Dylan Thomas.
As in many other
European countries, Christmas has come to be the best-loved time of the year
in Wales, and there are many traditions connected with it. In many parts of
Wales up until quite recently, it was the custom to get up very early on
Christmas morning to attend the Church service held between 3 and 6 a.m.
Much of Wales is
farmland, Wales is well known for its huge number of sheep.
