Lesson 11 - Pen Friends / Free Talk

Lesson Objectives: To allow the students to contact other students in the UK - Pen Friends - in order to improve their written skills and enable them to find out more about student life in the UK. The second part of the lesson will involve discussion - this is to encourage students to speak in groups and learn how to communicate more effectively.

Lesson Activities: Students tell us about their Pen Friends - and we discuss the options for setting up pen friends in the UK. Second part of the lesson involves discussion in small groups.

Pen Friends:

(Normally called Pen-Pal's) can be people that you write letters to, or people you send e-mail with.

We are going to set up links for students in our university with students in the UK. If everyone can write a letter to the UK we will post them altogether. (More information to be given in lessons)

  • Have you any pen pal stories?
